Welcome

Girls’ Leadership Camp is an exciting program for Philadelphia girls just entering its second year, with a focus on team building, leadership development, appreciation of the natural environment, and creative arts. We believe in helping girls to be strong, confident leaders who reach for their own dreams and are committed to making a positive impact on the world around them.

The first season of our summer sleepaway camp program, Camp Sojourner, was a huge success! Girls spent a week at our beautiful mountain site learning about being part of a team, being leaders, appreciating nature, and expressing themselves through arts such as drawing, writing, dancing, drumming, woodworking, and theater. Girls also had some good old-fashioned camp fun, swimming in the lake, boating, and toasting marshmallows around a campfire. Please see the Camp Sojourner 2008 section of this website for more information and pictures of campers and staff.

In October, we held our Camp Sojourner 2008 Report Back and Reunion for campers and families, where we watched a slide show and video of camp, and campers performed some of their pieces from the camp talent show. In November, we took our first group nature walk and are beginning our service projects, where groups of campers and junior counselors are working together to design projects that will make an impact on issues in their communities that they care about. Please check back on our website for regular updates.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Girls’ Leadership Camp/ Camp Sojourner! Please contact us if you would like to get involved with our program, as a camper, a parent, or a volunteer.

Best wishes,
